NARRATIVE On August 27, 2025 at approximately 2318 hours. Report from Sergeant Ruiz and Deputy Cook regarding an active shooting incident in the Legion area. The suspect fled the scene, prompting us to respond to Sergeant Ruiz’s backup alarm. A pursuit was initiated, during which the suspect repeatedly attempted to stop and opened fire on our units using an automatic weapon. In accordance with procedures, our deputies returned fire while maintaining pursuit. The suspect was ultimately neutralized in Grapeseed, and the vehicle involved was secured and transported to the Senora Sheriff’s Station for further processing. |
