LSSD AERO Bureau Rescue Saves Lost Hiker Following Campervan Failure
On February 23, 2026 at approximatelly 10:15 p.m. what began as a routine hiking trip quickly turned into a survival situation when a camper van suffered mechanical failure and GPS signal was lost in the rugged Mount Chiliad wilderness. Stranded and disoriented, the hiker called for help.
LSSD Aero Bureau - Search & Rescue was immediately deployed, launching an urgent search and rescue mission over difficult terrain. After an extensive aerial search, deputies located the stranded individual and executed a precautionary emergency landing in the Agro Ventura field area to secure the rescue.
Through rapid coordination and decisive action, the subject was safely brought out of danger.
