The Longest Night as Officers, Deputies, and Firefighters Braved Gunfire and Save Lives

Los Santos, SA — On July 23, 2025, at approximately 20:54 hours, Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) initiated a mutual aid operation with Los Santos Sheriff’s Department (LSSD) in the area of Grove Street. Upon arrival, a large group of motorcycle riders was observed disturbing the peace and intimidating local residents. As officers made their presence known, the group dispersed rapidly in an apparent attempt to evade law enforcement.

Officers pursued several fleeing suspects, with visual confirmation aiding the chase. The pursuit lasted under an hour and was further complicated by interference from unknown individuals driving vehicles, who intentionally obstructed law enforcement units by ramming into police and sheriff units. One of these unknown drivers attempted to sabotage the pursuit and fled the scene, prompting officers to shift attention to intercept and apprehend this individual.

Shortly after, all available units were directed to establish a perimeter at the intersection of Burton - Las Lagunas Blvd and Dorset Dr, where multiple suspects had been detained by LSPD. While awaiting the arrival of Los Santos Fire Department (LSFD) personnel around 21:18 hours, officers were suddenly met with gunfire originating from the north. The shots were directed toward the perimeter, prompting officers to take cover and return fire as necessary. Additional responding units began tracking suspects believed to have staged the ambush.

Soon after the engagement, LSFD personnel arrived on scene and provided immediate treatment to injured individuals before transporting them to Pillbox Hill Hospital (PBH). The scene was then declared clear.

At approximately 21:35 hours, LSPD units received new information regarding the whereabouts of additional suspects. Officers regrouped and responded to a second active scene in East Vinewood, specifically near Tangerine Street and Mirror Park Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers were ambushed by gunfire from suspects positioned within the area. A violent shootout ensued, resulting in multiple officers from both LSPD and LSSD sustaining injuries. Several suspects were also downed, while others managed to flee.

Once the area was secured, LSFD personnel were called in again to provide emergency aid to wounded officers and suspects. The rapid coordination and response between LSPD, LSSD, and LSFD played a critical role in managing the unfolding crisis and minimizing further risk to public safety.

This night marked a series of three interconnected high-risk scenes occurring within hours of each other. The incident highlights the importance of inter-agency cooperation and swift tactical response in volatile situations. We urge the public and city officials to recognize the severity of this event and continue to support the resources and personnel necessary to uphold safety and order across Los Santos.
